#10. Charlie Adam
He has only just turned 30 but has a face that looks like it’s had a very hard life. Charlie Adam looks like they type of player who would be a film extra, playing the ugly dumb accomplice that always seems to feature in comedy films. He has the type of face that would scare children away with plenty of gaps in his teeth which add to his look. The midfielder made a name for himself at Blackpool before a move to Liverpool which was a failure. He found a home in Stoke and is in good company as they aren’t exactly the best looking team in the league.
#9. Angel Di Maria
He may be one of the most exciting players to watch in world football, but he does have a funny face which isn’t really in proportion. The long face is a particularly unfortunate characteristic for the Argentinian who probably had a metaphorical long face during his failed spell at Manchester United where he failed to live up to his huge price tag. He has been much better at PSG however and is back to his Real Madrid form. His long pointy ears are also an unfortunate feature which combine with his overall look to make him one of the ugliest players in the game.
#8. Phil Jones
Phil Jones is another player with an unfortunate look and could be mistaken for Wayne Rooney’s brother due to the shape of his face which more resembles a potato than it does a human being. He also has the habit of making hilarious facial expressions when he is making challenges which almost looks like he is doing it on purpose. The defender has lost his way somewhat at Manchester United and may need to take his ugly face away from the club to get first team football and start fulfilling the early potential that he had when the club originally signed him from Blackburn.
#7. Mesut Ozil
Mesut Ozil is a great player and one of the best to watch in the world, his footballing ability is very pleasing on the eye, but the same can’t be said of his look. The German still manages to have one of the hottest WAG’s in world football though as the money that he receives quite clearly works better than any handsome looks could. The former Real Madrid star has found a home in England’s capital at Arsenal and is loved by their fans. For everyone else however, his eyes will be a constant source of fun and used in various different memes and jokes.
#6. Martin Skrtel
Martin Skrtel has a mean old face and has the look of a man who has just escaped from a mental asylum. The Slovakian defender spent nine years at Liverpool FC after getting transferred to them from Russian side Zenit. He has now left Anfield to join Fenerbahce to continue his career. He is one of the ugliest players in Premier League history and probably gave the people who met him nightmares, probably as many nightmares as he gave Liverpool fans with his dodgy defending. He was a long term player for them, but not the greatest defender they’ve ever had.
#5. Luis Suarez
He may be one of the best players in the world and the next Balon d’Or winner after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Rolando, but one thing missing from Luis Suarez is the looks. The Uruguayan will never be the pin-up boy of football regardless of how good he is. The former Ajax and Liverpool player is scoring a ridiculous amount of goals at the moment so probably doesn’t care. One of his prominent features are his big teeth which he seems to like using to bite people with as Bakkali, Ivanoviac and Chiellini will testify. His teeth, along with his ears make him one of the ugliest footballers.
#4. Joleon Lescott
#3. Carlos Tevez
Carlos Tevez is one of the most famous players to have played football in recent times. His time in England was memorable as he turned up unexpectedly at a small club in West Ham along with Javier Mascherano and saved them from relegation which was later found to have broken Premier League rules. He then got a move to Manchester United where he was very popular, popular until he decided to move to their bitter rivals Manchester City. His famous looks revolve around that scar on his neck, which came about when he was a small child and his mother accidently spilt boing water onto her son.
#2. Frank Ribery
“I’m proud of my scar. It gave me strength and forged my character. You have to be mentally strong to withstand the ridicule of other children and the stares of adults.” When you read that quote it’s hard to mock a man who has spent his whole life trying to overcome his difficulties. He made himself into one of the best wingers in modern times and has been a huge part of Bayern Munich’s success over recent years. His unfortunate scar has lived with him throughout all his life but has managed to earn millions doing what he loves, a great reward for a lifetime of dedication.
#1. Wayne Rooney
Wayne Rooney looks like a mixture of Shrek and a potato which is an unfortunate combination for anyone. When he lost his hair he look even uglier, but a hair transparent has at least made him look a little more human. He is still hasn’t exactly got the best looks though, but still manages to find himself as the face of many brands given his international appeal. It’s hoped for everyone involved that his children takes their look from his beautiful wife and not Rooney himself, as to take after their father would be a life sentence of ugliness which would be cruel.
